WHERE Texas A&M University Dale Watts Cross Country Course College Station , TX WHEN December 9-10, 2022 OVERVIEW The season is progressing well and quite a few of our athletes have the potential to qualify for the USATF National Junior Olympics, which will be held in College Station, Texas on December 10, 2022. Nationals is a great opportunity for the Hawks to compete at a high level with athletes from all over the country. Not every Delta Hawk will qualify this year, and no one is required to compete (even if they do qualify), but if you’re interested, please talk with Coach Eric or Coach Galen about the likelihood of your athlete qualifying so you can start planning. Athletes can qualify as individuals or as part of a team in their age group, with up to eight athletes qualifying as part of a team. Right now, it looks like we have a very good chance of fielding qualifying teams in the Girls 9-10, Girls 11-12, and Boys 13-14 age groups. It is also possible that we field a qualifying team in the Boys 11-12 age group. If your athlete is in one of these age groups, please check in with the coaches and prioritize attendance at the association and regional qualifying meets (see below). QUALIFICATIONS
FEES The fees for the races will be covered by the Delta Hawks but airline costs, hotels and any other travel expenses will be the responsibility of the athlete's family. We have limited scholarship funds to offset travel costs for athletes who may need financial assistance; please talk to one of the coaches at practice.
