No Excuses 5k Details

Our last 5k of the season is here and our Hawks are ready. Please be sure to arrive on time so we can warmup properly. Just a heads up this event allows dogs so there will be a lot of dogs at the event. We will talk about focusing on the race on Sunday, if you aren't going to be at practice Sunday please prepare your child to focus on warmups, race and cooldown. They can interact with the dogs when we are done.

• Race Day: opens at 7:15am
• NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION AS THE EVENT IS SOLD OUT

Race Day

• Race Starts in Land Park near the corner of Freeport & Sutterville
• Visit www.noexcuses5k.com for race info
• Meet at our team tent near the starting line (see pic below)
  • Meet @ 7:45am
• Race Starts​
  • Kids 1/4 and 1/2 Mile Fun Runs: 8:15am
  • 5k: 8:45am
• After the race Hawks should return to the team tent for a proper cooldown and if you need to leave please let a coach know so that we know all Hawks are accounted for.

Parking
There is plenty of street parking in the neighborhood surrounding Land Park. Please be mindful of the neighbors and do not block driveways. If you are parking at Sacramento City College (off of Freeport Blvd.), be sure to pay! There is no free parking on campus.  There will be limited free parking available at Harry A. Nauman & Son Funeral Director, 4041 Freeport Blvd.

Suggestions

• Have your child bring a backpack for their gear that can stay at the team tent while they are racing.
• Team gear:
  • Warmup: practice shirt, hoodie if you ordered one and running pants.
  • Race: shorts and singlet (tank top) - no sweatshirts or pants during race.
  • Put out all of your team gear the night before to reduce race morning stress.
• Spectating
  • A great spot to spectate will be on 14th Avenue between Land Park Drive and the finish line
